Both the roles of Guddu and Charlie are perfectly essayed by none other than Bollywoods boy next door Shahid Kapoor. Though Guddu and Charlie are identical twins, their similarities end there.

Guddu is a trainee at an NGO. He desires to make it big in the corporate sector and wants to do work that will benefit everyone belonging to the middle class. He is honest, sincere and hard working. Though he knows that he will take time to attain the name and fame that he desires, he is ready to walk the path and face the consequences.

Charlie is just the opposite to Guddu. He is living on a razor edge. He wants to make it big but fast really fast. He plays bets at the race course; he mingles with the rich and famous in order to get benefits from them. Charlie is brave and street smart. He dreams of becoming a legitimate bookie one day.

Though Identical to each other, the brothers cannot see eye to eye. They insist that they have nothing in common. However God has other plans for them. Guddu and Charlie are more than similar; their speech impairment is also similar. Guddu stammers when he is nervous and Charlie has a lisp. Both have chosen separate paths and believe in not meeting each other ever.

All is well until one day when hell breaks loose in both the brothers' life and changes it forever.

Charlie is having a bad day at work and has put all he has on a derby race. Unfortunately he is double crossed and he loses all that he had. His blood boils and he and his men track the jockey and want to get even with the rival gang. They start tracking the goons and in turn get trapped in the meantime. They soon realize that police is on their look out.

On the other hand, Guddu is busy performing a street play when his new girlfriend Priyanka Chopra comes and breaks the news that she is pregnant.Guddu is shocked but regains composure thinking that all would be well once they get married. To which Priyanka Chopra adds the twist that her brother is none other than Sunil Bhope ( Amol Gupte) a well known gangster with affluent connections. To worsen the matter, her brother and his goons are already on the lookout for Guddu ready to mince him.

The major chunk of the movie is about this one fine day and what happens in the life of the two brothers and how their path meets. In their quest of saving themselves, they unravel a deep rooted political police underworld nexus and wake up the hidden virtues in themselves.

In short Kaminey being a Vishal Bharadwaj movie is expected to be one of the most critically acclaimed movies of 2009.
