Telecast Schedule on DD-1 (Saturday, 9AM) 8th Novemver, 2008 ATHWAAS- THE JOURNEY (30 min) Directed by Ashima Kaul Bhatia Synopsis In 2001, a few Kashmiri women from diverse backgrounds and who had
experienced the Kashmir conflict differently, came together to listen
to each other. They named themselves Athwaas, a Kashmiri word meaning a
handshake. The core group of Athwaas later traveled to different parts
of the Kashmir Valley and camps of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit
community in Jammu, listening to the stories of pain, suffering and
resilience of women divided across multiple faultlines. The film traces
the emotional and physical journey of each woman in Athwaas beginning
from the personal narrative of the director when she first visited the
Valley to the time Athwaas was formed.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? (30 min) Directed by Bharath Murthy Synopsis This film is about a video called 'Mysore Mallige’ that caused some
flutter a few years ago. A couple shot themselves having sex, and the
video got leaked into the porn circuit. While pornographic videos are
commonplace, what made this video unusual was that it was not made for
commercial exploitation. It was an amateur video, and one among the
first. Soon amateur sex videos started springing up everywhere. This
film tries to understand this phenomenon, and the role of sexual images
in our lives.

SHED NO MORE BLOOD (30 min) Directed by Satya Prakash Synopsis In the backdrop of insurgency in Nagaland, and the ongoing peace
process. The film looks at the life and work of Neidonuo Angami, a
leader of the Naga Mothers Association, honoured with the Padmashree in
2003 and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005.
29TH NOVEMBER, 2005 SHAKTI (30 min) Directd by Sanjoy Roy and Praveen Choudhary) Synopsis Through the story of Kamala, the film delves into the multiple layers
of ignorance and desperation of a multitude of defenceless children
from across the country who are thrown into the macabre world of
prostitution and eventually grow into being its doyens, thus continuing
the vicious cycle.
