Phil Harris, star of Discover channel show Deadliest Catch died in Anchorage due to heart stroke. Deadliest Catch star Phil Harris fame was admitted to hospital weeks back for heart surgery. Harris condition improved last week, but finally he succumb to heart stroke in Anchorage hospital. Phil Harris was 53 years old. Phil Harris death is great shock to not only Deadliest Catch fans, but also to many others. Harris funeral arrangement are yet to be announced.

Phil Harris sons Jake and Josh and announced sad news of death of Phil Harris and expressed, "It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad - Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end," sons Josh and Jake Harris said in a statement on the Cornelia Marie site.  "For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down."
